Pleasant Grove House
The Pleasant Grove House was a roadhouse for travelers on the Old Coloma Road (now Green Valley Road). It was built in the early 1850s. It served as a relay station sometime in 1860 (where riders switched horses but didn’t rest) until the demise of the Pony Express on October 24, 1861. The Sanders family owned the house which included a blacksmith shop and horse boarding. The house and barn still exist today but onlookers are not to trespass on the property.
